Don't Stop 'til You Get to the Top …

Right there, at the top of the hill that leads into Ellison Bay, is the best view in Door County. Imagine what it must have been like in 1858 for John Ellison, the founder of Ellison Bay, as he took a long look at Green Bay through the forest and remembered his home back in Denmark. The vista is breathtaking, so be sure to pull off the side of the highway for that perfect photo. There is something peaceful about that view, and it's a good preview of what you will find here, in Ellison Bay.

Descendants of John Ellison and other pioneers cleared this land and left a legacy of hard work, strong families and love of place. Everywhere you drive, everyone you talk to, embodies what makes this place special.

Come on up, past the tension line, into old Door County. Slow down, enjoy the view and take time to visit all the beautiful parks and galleries.
